Contemporary sounding.

“These liars have lied so well and for so long that they’ve lost their capacity for truth.”

1 Timothy 4:2 MSG

Well said.

“..some are going to give up on the faith and chase after demonic illusions put forth by professional liars.”

1 Timothy 4:1 MSG

There’s never a dull moment!

“Christian life is a great mystery, far exceeding our understanding”

1 Timothy 3:16 MSG

The way to peace in our time.

“Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply”

1 Timothy 2:2 MSG

Becoming a little more difficult everyday to hang on?

“keeping a firm grip on your faith and on yourself. After all, this is a fight we’re in.”

1 Timothy 1:19 MSG

Paul’s qualifications and credentials for the ministry. All that’s missing are character references from those he persecuted. The obvious over-abounding proviso is the mercy of God:

Paul thought it mattered.

“It’s true that moral guidance and counsel need to be given, but the way you say it and to whom you say it are as important as what you say.”

1 Timothy 1:8 MSG

Straying from the point of love only reaches a dead end.

“The whole point of what we’re urging is simply love…. Those who fail to keep to this point soon wander off into cul-de-sacs of gossip.”

1 Timothy 1:5-6 MSG

Love with a focus is most important.

“The whole point of what we’re urging is simply love—love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God.”

1 Timothy 1:5 MSG

God gives out special assignments. Who knew.

“I, Paul, am an apostle on special assignment for Christ, our living hope.”
